I've never met anyone that didn't like music in some form or another. So many different genres, it's amazing.

Long ago, when I was deeply into my art. I recall listening to classical and new age music while I did my works. There was something about this music that got me into the creative mode so much more deeply. Even when I wasn't doing some type of artwork, I listened to this type and other genres as well. I think it was how the different types of music seemed as impressively creative as the art I wanted to do. I was very young, of course, but I felt more than I understood. Still, enjoying the imaginative sounds that others put together was  overwhelming at times, yet in the best of ways, and I welcomed it.

Today, I listen to just about everything, and I mean everything. I have my own preferences when it comes to everyday music, but I haven't come across a particular genre that didn't have some part of it that was different and interesting. As I mentioned, listening to the creativity that others bring about can be and is empowering.

My chosen genre is Trance. Vocal and Non-vocal. Regardless if the music has someone singing on it or not, I am amazed at how those that create this music can come up with so many different sounds and put them together to make something so beautiful. I myself have mixed and made my own trance. I have literally thousands of loops and samples of sounds, it's unreal. It's difficult at times to know where to begin at choosing them. Opening my mind as much as possible to whatever I find is the key to putting together something good. Just as I draw and airbrush, in terms of openness, it's so important for me to "let go". It's unfortunate how many people I have met that actually don't like trance. Well, I am told that much of it has the same beat. In my opinion, this is true as well, BUT, I believe that if someone hears only one thing about it over and over, how can one come to enjoy and/or internalize so much more that is there? I'm no one special and I don't have a magical way of hearing what someone may not, but all types of music, whether we understand it differently or not, in its own way, can and does bring out something within that we love and at times may hate. Still, music gets to all of us, I believe. However we choose to look at it is like everything else,...... a choice.
